The Beggar

by Dushan on August 19, 2005

Master and pupil were walking through a street of the city. The pupil was quite wealthy, and as a beggar approached them, the pupil was eager to share some money.

As the pupil reached into his purse, the Master said: “Wait a little!”

So the pupil waited.

Then the Master shouted into the street: “People, come and gather! See what good deed this man will do!”

The people gathered.

That night the beggar fell asleep as a very happy man.
