Ox

Cartoon

Master and pupil were walking through the fields.

They saw an ox, that pulled its plough straight. The ox was strong and its yoke was light.

On the next field there was an ox, that pulled its plough in crooked lines. This ox was weak and its yoke was heavy.

The Master asked, “Which ox is to be admired more?”

“Of course the one that draws straight furrows”, said the pupil.

“No”, said the Master, “the weak ox is to be admired, for its shoulders are narrow and its burden is heavy.”

The pupil nodded.

Again the Master asked, “Which ox should we learn from?”

“From the weak ox”, the pupil answered carefully, “because its labor is greater.”

“No”, said the Master, “we should learn from the strong ox, because it draws straight furrows.”

I am sorry. I voted for Elli in your blog battle. But I am sure the Master could work out a story to explain why I chose as I did. ;-)

eh

If I’d seen your battle, I would’ve voted for you. But I didn’t.

I really enjoy your entries. I’ve never commented, as I’ve never had anything constructive to say–I find it best for me to simply ponder your entry quietly.

I just wanted to know that I enjoy this site and check it quite often.
