The evening came. It was time to say Good Bye and Good Night. The Master told the pupil a story, just like a mother tells her daughter a story before the night.
He said: “After God created the earth he let some time run by, just to watch and make sure everything was working out. It seemed that it was and God was happy with his work.
But the Devil came up to God and said: ‘You made everything good and great.’
‘I sure did!’ said the Allmighty.
‘Well’, the Devil continued, ’so why are the humans all suffering?’
God took a closer look, and indeed they were.
He thought for a while, which for Him of course is less then a split second, than He said: ‘I made them too much like me.’
He turned to the Archangel and said: ‘Gabriel, would you handle that for me?’
‘I will’, said Gabriel.
So one night the Angel descended to earth, and when all the humans were sleeping Gabriel taught their souls to forget.’”
